oops I messed up that last one. This could be my last post!

Well my posting days could be over after this. This blog stuff is kind of cool but not really for me. I mean who really cares what I say? Anyway about this baseball stuff, I wish sen. Mitchell would leave teh steroid thing alone and it would probably die. All we can do now is move on and see that we don't repeat our mistakes in the game of baseball again and hurt the fans even more. Why does he have to stick his head into baseball, like the senate doesn't have other things they can be worrying about. All we do now is learn from our history and not repeat it. Have tougher drug policies now and keep guys accountable from now on. Who cares who used steroids in the past. If you watched a few games a couple of years ago you could tell who was on it, if your not completely naive! Just look at the body changes. Bonds body changed in one off season which for him is only 4 and half months long. A normal human couldn't get that big in 4 months with out a little help! Not only that, he was 38 when his body made those changes, that ain't just protein drinks and good work ethic. But who knows? Lets just move on let him hit the HRs and lets turn the page and figure out how to keep it from happening again. I wish Selig would resign he is a clown! Get a new Commish, please!! I'm out. gillsville

HR Record

Well, Barry is now only 10 homers away from one of the most storied record in quite possibly all of sports an still no one is really talking about it. Go back to 98 when big mac was 10 homers away from the season mark for homers, everyone was talking about it. This record was held by Babe Ruth!! and no one is really saying anything. Isn't that just a little strange? It sure is to me. Hank Aaron is talking a little and says he doesn't care for Bonds in so many words. So what? He still is going to break the record so go shake his hand and say congrats, who cares if you like the guy. It is the right thing to do. This is all because of the steroid issue, no doubt. He in some way shape or form admitted that he took them. He said he didn't know what it was but he still took it, right? That is as close to admitting it as we will get from this guy. He is getting a pass because he said he didn't know what it was, Yeah Right!
Anyway, Giambi is another issue. I thought he already admitted to the grand jury taht he took them, and now they are saying he said some things that eluded to his taking the juice the other day, What? I thought he already said he did back to the grand jury way back two yrs ago? Is anyone else confused on this issue? And besides it wasn't illegal back when he was taking so what can they do? Barry will break the record and almost everyone will not pay too much attention to it. This is a big deal, what a record!

Dreams coming true and some aren't

Well baseball is in full swing. It is an interesting time for amatuer players right now. Tomorrow is the first day of the MLB amatuer draft. Some players dreams will be realized and some others will be disappointed. It's difficult to describe your feelings waiting for your name to be called. It really has alot to do with who these players are listening to. Some get told that they will be picked in the first 5-10 rounds, so they get their hopes up only to find out they were picked in the 25th round which is considerably less money than 5-10 roounds. Some will be instant millionaires come tomorrow and others will have to scratch and claw to ever have a chance to even be considered to play at the major league level. The spectrum will be wide from millionaire to a plane ticket as signing bonuses. The millionaire will get every opportunity to make it to the major leagues while the plane ticket signee will have to prove he belongs at that level every time he steps on the field. For every kid that signs a contract in the next couple of weeks there are others being sent home or as they say released. Emotions will run high in the next few days for thousands of young aspiring big leaguers. Many that expect to get drafted won't. It is a trying time for those on the fringe. Also, there is quite a bit of difference in money between 1st three rounds and those drafted after the 10th. So, not only are they hoping to get drafted but hoping to get drafted early. I hope to post more on this subject later, but thats all for now.

This blog stuff can be kind of cool. How about those suspensions in the basketball playoffs, what a joke!

Anybody find it interesting that the homerun record is on the verge of being broken and nobody is really talking about it?
Bud Selig is still trying to decide if he is going to show up for the record breaking with no explantion of why. Hank is mad because of the whole steroid issue and he won't be there. That is kind of crazy. Steroids or not you still have to make contact, solid contact to hit it out. It still is the hardest thing to do in sports -round ball /round bat and hit it square. Without a doubt the single hardest thing to do in sports is to be a good hitter. Failure 7/10 and your a millionaire! easy huh! No other sport can you fail that much and be considered good.

Hitting is simple yet complex within its own simplicity! sg12

1st post of all time!

Pretty easy to start blogging, eh! Not real sure what this is all about ?

Welcome to my world !
This will probably be my thoughts in the world of Baseball . Good and Bad
maybe just a whole lot of ranting on my soap box.
For instance: How come every kid today has a personal hitting coach ? How do you pick one and how do you know the guy knows what he is talking about? Pitching as well , everybody has their own coach. What ever happened to going out and playing at the corner park and figuring it out by yourself until you get past High School.

Hitting is rotational against a firm front side. It is not in the wrists like the old guys think. It is a violent action. Generating force from the ground up starting with the feet and ending with the bat. Creating force or generating and then throwing up against a firm front side around an axis of rotation. It is rotational, not linear! Regardless of what people say they see, the eye is not fast enough to spot it. We know this through the videos we have taken throughout the years. This has been cussed and discussed for years and will be until everyone has the use of technology such as motion analysis.
